Virgie Dorothy Mae Marion Willard

Mrs. Virgie Dorothy Mae Marion Willard, 95, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Willard was born July 8, 1915, in Surry County, to John William and Emma Victoria Jones Marion. She was a loving homemaker and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Faye and Ronnie Collins of High Point and Sharon and Les Perdue of Ararat, VA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randell and Helen Willard of Staunton, VA, and Gary and Gail Willard of Pembroke Pines, FL; grandchildren, Kim Fulmer, Lisa Jones, Kevin Willard, Justin Willard, Scott Willard, Courtney Carrion, Shannon Wilson, and Danny Perdue; step-grandson, Benjamin Stone; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Wendell and Carol Marion of Apple Valley, CA, and Melvin and Denise Marion of Provo, UT. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Willard was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Franklin Willard; two sisters, Annie Gay VonCannon and Esther Johnson; and a brother, John Lee Marion. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 31, 2010, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Bishop David Hiatt officiating. Burial will follow in the James Monroe Hiatt Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the church.
