Virgil Ray Melton, Jr.

Mr. Virgil Ray Melton, Jr., 50, of Lowgap passed away unexpected, Monday, June 6, 2022, at his home.  He was born in Galax, VA, November 24, 1971, to Kay Manning and the late Virgil Melton, Sr.  He was a loving husband, father, son, pop-pop and friend.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Janet Melton; a daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Melton Lowry (Jesse); grandchildren, Maci and Wyatt Lowry, who was the light of his life; mother and stepfather, Kay and Dan Manning; step mother Sue Melton; his James River Equipment family and his rodeo family who he loved; several cousins and friends to cherish.  A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Palomino Mountain Ranch, 8218 W Pine St., Lowgap, NC 27024.  Everyone is welcome to celebrate with the family.  Online condolences  may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
