Virginia Shoemaker Hudson Bowman

Mrs. Virginia Shoemaker Hudson Bowman, 84, of Dobson, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009, at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Wilkes County on January 15, 1925 to the late Robert McKinley and Addie Mastin Shoemaker. Mrs. Bowman was retired from Elkin Valley Apperal and a faithful member of Copeland Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dr. Charles Fotenot of Crowley, LA.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald Eugene and Sandra Hudson and Robert Lee Hudson all of Dobson; two grandchildren, Scott Hudson and Sherri Hudson; a sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Clay Alexander; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Vecie Shoemaker and Bruce and Ruth Shoemaker all of Roaring River. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husbands, Garlie Lee Hudson and Kirby Bowman and a brother, Edward Shoemaker. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 31, 2009 at Copeland Baptist Church by Rev. Joey Jessup. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their compassionate care.
