Virginia Mae Easter

Ms. Virginia Mae Goins Easter, age 93, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday afternoon, November 10, 2020.  She was born in Stokes County on April 30, 1927 to the late Sam and Verlie Gammons Goins.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.  Mrs. Easter was retired from Sara Lee Corporation after many years of dedicated service.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Darrell Manuel; two grandchildren, Wendy and Steven Hayden, and Chad Hatcher; five great-grandchildren, Montana Hayden, Brody Hayden, Chase Hatcher, Jordan Hatcher, and Bentley Hatcher; two sisters, Iris Bryant and Linda Fain; three brothers, Shirley Goins, Jerry Goins, and Andy Goins; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Ms. Easter was preceded in death by five sisters, Frances Hughes, Annie Laura Fain, Rachel Davis, Carrie Bowman, and Alice Lawson; four brothers, Bobby Goins, Walter Goins, Clyde Goins, and Harry Goins; and her step-mother, Nellie Goins.  There will not be any formal services for Ms. Easter at this time.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Easter family.
