Virginia Helen Gwyn Goad

Mrs. Virginia Helen Gwyn Goad, 77, of 421 Dunmans Alley, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, August 17, 2007, at her home. Mrs. Goad was born February 26, 1930, in Surry County, to the late Rev. Marion Gwyn and Margie Gwyn Gwyn. She is survived by two daughters, Gwyn Austin and Regina Crabb, both of Mount Airy; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Larry Branch, Lawrence Branch, Mark and Debbie Branch, Nelson and Robin Branch, and Joe and Kim Goad, all of Mount Airy; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her mother, Margie Gwyn Gwyn of the home; sisters, Gertrude Jordon of Robbins, NC, Barbara O'Neil of Ararat, NC; a brother, Marvin Gwyn of Cana. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goad was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Junior Goad; and a son, Billy James Branch. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 20, 2007, at 2:00 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Johnny Hawks, with burial will to follow in the Bear Trail Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
