Virginia Beatrice Kirkman Holder

Mrs. Virginia Beatrice Kirkman Holder, age 86 of Mt. Airy, a resident of Central Care, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Holder was born in Surry County, September 20, 1921 to Charlie and Mollie Baldwin Kirkman. She was a loving mother and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis and Lester Pickett of Yadkinville; Mary Frances Marion of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Sharon Holder of Lexington; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Kirkman of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holder was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Holder; a daughter, Barbara Jean Woodruff; a sister and four brothers. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy, conducted by Rev. Grover Holder. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
