Vivian Elaine Bowman

Mrs. Vivian Elaine Smith Bowman, 96, of Winston-Salem, formerly of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Salem Terrace Assisted Living.  Mrs. Bowman was born November 26, 1923, in Stokes County, to the late Charles Leo and Rachel Martin Smith.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  She was a homemaker and a member of New Covenant Baptist Church.  She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Linda Bowman of Winston-Salem and Terry and Jennifer Bowman of Charlotte; and two grandchildren, Chris Bowman and Meredith Bowman.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, James Lester Bowman; a brother, Carl Smith; and a sister, Ruth Emma Smith.  A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 23, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Oakdale Cemetery.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
