Vivian Juanita Simmons

Mrs. Vivian “Juanita” Chilton Simmons, 95, of Pilot Mountain passed away Tuesday, July 09, 2019, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.  Mrs. Simmons was born in Surry County on November 5, 1923, to the late Jesse Howard and Josie Ella Lytle Chilton.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will surely be missed by all her family and many friends. Mrs. Simmons was a faithful member of Simmons Grove Baptist Church and always had something good to say about everybody.  She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Bobby Fagg, Linda and George Witt; a son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Patty Simmons; grandchildren and spouses, Robert Morris, Lisa and Joe Jessup, Lori and Luke Coe, Kristy and Josh Coe, Neil and Krystal Simmons, Bridget and Dale Keener, April Simmons and Chance Witt; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie Anderson.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lewis Simmons, and sisters, Fay Reddic, Nevedia Haynes and Dottie Hicks; brothers, Dennis, Radford and Ottis Chilton..  A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Simmons Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Branch and Rev. Stuart Mauck officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the church. The family would like to send a special thanks to the home care workers, April Simmons, Octavia Revels, Kathryn Johnson and Annabelle McCracken for their wonderful care during Mrs. Simmons Illness.  Also the family would like to thank the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for all their care during their time of need they were truly heaven sent.
