W. E. "Sparky" Vogler

Mr. W.E. "Sparky" Vogler age 82 of 1513 Pittman,St., Mt. Airy, NC, the husband of Effie Wall Vogler passed away Saturday morning, March 17, 2007. Mr. Vogler was the oldest of eleven children and was born March 25, 1924 in Pittsburg, Pa, the son of the late John W. and Jessie M. Vogler. Mr. Vogler was of the Baptist Faith and was a veteran of the 8th Air Force stationed in England. Mr. Vogler was an electrician with Battery & Electric Service Co. in Mt. Airy, was an Electrical Aircraft inspector for Glenn L. Martin in Baltimore, MD, shift supervisor with Western Electric in Winston-Salem, NC. He was the owner and operator of Vogler's Appliance and TV Sales and service and was the owner of Vogler-Videos. Surviving are his wife, Effie Wall Vogler of the home, one daughter , Nancy Vogler Bateman and husband, Charles, Burlington, NC, and one son, John W. (Jay) Vogler and wife, Gray Simmons Vogler, Mt. Airy, NC, one grandson, John C. Bateman, Burlington, NC, and five granddaughters, Polly Moss, Irmo, SC, Kari Brown, Brentwood, TN, Alison Hunter, Brentwood, TN, Sarah Patton, Marietta, GA, Charlotte V. Bateman, Burlington, NC, three great grandsons, three great granddaughters, five sisters, Jacqueline V. Shelton, Betty V. Houston, Peggy V. Sutphin, Gale V. Riggs and Patsy V. Paul, three brothers, John F. Vogler, Ronald Vogler and Bobby Vogler. Mr. Vogler was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles M. Vogler and Benjamin T. Vogler. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 19, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Todd. Byrd. Entombment will follow in the Skyline Memory Garden Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Sunday night at Moody Funeral home where his body will remain until the hour of the funeral service.
