Mr. Wade Chang Bunker, 81, of White Plains, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at his home.  Mr. Bunker was born March 11, 1941, in Surry County, the son of the late Robert Taylor and Nell Key Bunker.  Wade was reared in the White Plains community and graduated from White Plains High School in 1959.  He served our country in the United States Air Force for 23 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1983.  Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked at McDonald Douglas Inc. in Saudi Arabia, and, after moving back to The States, he worked at Proctor-Silex Inc. and Lowe’s Hardware.  In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, yard work, and fishing.  Wade was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy O’Neal Bunker of the home; a daughter, Dorene Bunker of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Wade Garrett and Rebecca Bunker of Lakeland, TN; a granddaughter, Emily Foster and her fiancé, Bobby Pratt, of Mount Airy; a great-grandson, Josiah of Mount Airy; a great-granddaughter, Hailey of Mount Airy; his twin brother and partner-in-crime, Wayne Eng Bunker of Pilot Mountain; and a sister and brother-in-law, Betsy and John Hemmings of Conover.  A service of worship and celebration of Wade’s life will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 4:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark A. Reece, Jr. officiating.  At the conclusion of the service, military honors will be conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.  No formal visitation will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA  18901, or online at www.dementiasociety.org/donate; or the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 1022, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
