Wade Ricky Draughn

Mr. Wade Ricky Draughn, 67, of Mount Airy, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 23, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  Mr. Draughn was born December 16, 1954, in Surry County, the son of the late Wade Gilbert and Verlie Marion Draughn.  Ricky was reared in the Piney Grove community and graduated from Surry Central High School.  He later attended Surry Community College and worked at Patterson Buick for many years.  Mr. Draughn was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.  He is survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Brenda and Bill Dollyhigh of Mount Airy, Norma Sprinkle of Elkin, and Judy Dollyhigh of Dobson; three nephews and their spouses, Ray and Shana Dollyhigh of Dobson, Shane and Christy Dollyhigh of Florida, and Jarett and Tam Dollyhigh of Fort Worth, TX; three great-nieces, Savannah Dollyhigh of Dobson, McKayla Dollyhigh of Galax, VA, and Skylar Dollyhigh of Fort Worth, TX; and a great-nephew, Luke Dollyhigh of Fort Worth, TX.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Draughn was preceded in death by three infant sisters; and two brothers-in-law, Woodrow Craig Sprinkle and Larry Ray Dollyhigh, Sr.  A service of worship and celebration of Ricky’s life will be held Monday, November 28, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Van Lankford and the Rev. Marcus McGill officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  In lieu of food and flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 1022, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
