Wade Franklin Hawks

Mr. Wade Franklin Hawks, 75, of Cana, VA passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.  He was born in Carroll County, VA May 14, 1943 to the late Benny and Oleta Dickerson Hawks.  Mr. Hawks was a devoted member of Westview Baptist Church.  He was a kind, gentle man with a strong love for his family and friends.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife Ruth Edwards Hawks; nieces, Gwendolyn Schoenthal, Michele Goad, and Myra Tate; great-nieces Stephanie Branson and husband Greg and Courtney Wyrick; a brother-in-law Bobby Tate and many friends.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by a sister Betty Lou Tate.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Westview Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Jenkins.  Burial will follow at Flat Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Westview Baptist Church on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
