Mr. Wade Jackson Parsons, 73, of 2237 Park Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Parsons was born February 10, 1934, in Surry County, to Kate Myrtle Tolbert Parsons and the late Thurman Patterson Parsons. He owned and operated Wade's Cafe on South Street for many years and later owned and operated Wade's Wrecker Service Inc. Mr. Parsons also attended Highland Park Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vera Bolt Parsons of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Elber Dehart of Mount Airy; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Wade and Lisa Parsons, Donald Gray and Debra Parsons, and Scotty Dale and Mandy Parsons, all of Mount Airy; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and his mother, Kate Myrtle Tolbert Parsons of Mount Airy. In addition to his father, Mr. Parsons was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Grace Parsons; and a brother, Sidney Marion Parsons. The funeral will be held Wednesday February 14, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Park Baptist church with services conducted by Rev. Bob Josey and Rev. Robert Holder with burial to follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday night 6 to 8 P.M. at Highland Park Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Highland Park Youth Fund 1327 Grove Lane Mt. Airy, NC. 27030. Moody Funeral Home will be assisting the Parsons Family.
