Wade Lee Queen

Mr. Wade Lee Queen (Pa), peacefully stepped into the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital.  Pa was born January 1st, 1940, in Surry County to the late Willie Lee and Gertrude Chrissman Queen.  Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Rebecca Vass, his dog and best friend “Buddy”,  his stepchildren, several step-grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, along with his niece and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Queen, grandson, Jason Finney, granddaughter, Rose Dalton, his dog Trixie, his parents, his siblings: Georgie, Wilma, Calvin, Jimmy, Lorena, Ethelene, Wanda, and Emmajean. To say he was a devoted husband is an understatement.  He was a carpenter by trade.  He enjoyed his garden, mowing the yard, and putting up his Christmas lights.  Pa will forever be loved and missed by his loved ones.  A celebration of Pa’s life will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Jenkins and Tina Finney officiating.  The family will receive friends Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 11:00 am until time of the service at the church.  Burial will follow at New Venture Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Friends of Stokes Shelter, 1111 Dodgetown Road, Walnut Cove, North Carolina, 27502.  The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Northern Regional Hospital for all the care and support they provided to our Pa Wade during his last days with us on earth.  Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Queen Family.
