Wade Hampton Wilkes

Mr. Wade Hampton Wilkes, age 68 of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at his home. Mr. Wilkes was born in Chesterfield, SC May 23, 1939 to Benny and Lela Totson Wilkes. He was retired from the Sandhill State Forestry Service of South Carolina and was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. Surviving is his loving wife, Shirley Ericson Howard Wilkes of the home; his beloved granddaughter, April Semones and husband Tim; and her sons, Isaac and Nicholas; daughters, Patricia Ray and Cathy Ray both of Dobson; Cindy Ray of Hartsville, SC; Cynthia B. Clifford and husband Fred of S. Yarmouth, MA; Patricia A. Cameron of Rochester, NH; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Shelby Edwards of Birdtown, SC; Barbara Ganey of Cedarcreek, SC; and brothers, J. B. Wilkes and wife Annie of Hartsville, SC; Howard Wilkes of Florence, SC; and James Shaw of Hartsville, SC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilkes was preceded in death by a brother, Casey Wilkes. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Calvary Assembly of God.
