Walter Wayne Doss

Mr. Walter Wayne Doss, 73, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016, at his home. Mr. Doss was born September 26, 1942, in Surry County, the son of the late Roy Lee and Dessie Virginia Kirkman Doss. He retired from John S. Clark Company, Inc. as a brick mason and was an avid collector of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. Surviving are a stepson, Drew Timmons of Mount Airy; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Pansy and Cecil Wheeling of Mount Airy, Sylvia Finney of Martinsville, VA, and Mary Ann and Paul Godino of Greensboro; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Artis and Carol Doss, Ronnie and Kaye Doss, Gary and Linda Doss, and Roy and Sue Goin, all of Mount Airy; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Brother Don Collins officiating. Entombment will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
