Wanda Easter Kirkman

Mrs. Wanda Easter Kirkman, age 90, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy.  She was born in Surry County on February 15, 1932, to the late G.C. and Annie McCreary Easter.  She was a charter member of Friendly Tabernacle where she attended faithfully until her health declined. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Craddock, Vickie Flynn (Jimmy); grandchildren, Donnie McBride (Judy), Cindy Stanley (Gary), Tyler Flynn (Sierra); great-grandchildren, Adam Bryant (Kristi), Ashley Holt (Nathan); three step great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Christine Hawks, brothers-in-law, Charles Kirkman (Sue), and Steve Kirkman.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kirkman was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Kirkman; sister, Josephine Towe; brothers, John and Arnold Easter; and son-in-law, Carl Craddock.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Bro. Tony Williams.  Burial will follow in Midkiff Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 PM until time for the service at the funeral home.  The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Central Continuing Care as well as the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care given to Mrs. Kirkman during her stay there.
