Wanda Quesinberry

Mrs. Wanda Sharlene Shockley Quesinberry, 78, of Mt. Airy, passed away at her home, Thursday, April 15, 2021.  She was born in Patrick County, VA, to the late Robert Fred and Lois Trudy Tucker Shockley.  Mrs. Quesinberry retired as a registered nurse from Surry Medical Specialist and attended First Church of the Brethren.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Karen Dollyhigh; her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jimmie Quesinberry, Jr. and Alisa; a granddaughter, Hannah Dollyhigh and her children, Jullian, Nicholas, and Lacey Dollyhigh, and other grandchildren, Eddie Quesinberry, Logan Quesinberry, Allyson Quesinberry, Ryan Quesinberry, and Anna Li Quesinberry; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Charles Overby, and JoAnn Corns.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Quesinberry was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Green Quesinberry; a foster son Barry Shinault; sisters, Marie Robbins, Elva Gilbert, Ruth Collins, and a brother James Shockley.  There will be a private graveside service Saturday with Rev. Wallace Cole, and Pastor Vassie Vaught officiating.  There will not be any formal visitation at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200.
