Mrs. Wanda James Towe, 74, of 1070 Brookhaven Road, Walnut Cove, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday night, June 2, 2011, from her home. Mrs. Towe was born November 23, 1936, in Forsyth County, daughter of the late Sam Ray and Novella Stack James. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Msgt Gary Holland of England; a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Susan Towe of Walnut Cove; five grandchildren, Morgan Towe and Annika Towe, both of Walnut Cove, and Caroline Holland, Caitlin Holland, and Christopher Holland, all of England; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Tom Dustrude of Rural Hall; a brother, Joe James of Sandy Ridge; a sister-in-law and her husband, Edna and John Marshall of Mocksville; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Towe was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Jimmy Lee Towe; a sister, Sammie Stanfield; and a brother, Sonny James. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Gospel Baptist Church in Pinnacle, with the Rev. John Hylton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at Gospel Baptist Church. Her body will lie-in-state 30 minutes at the church prior to the service.
