Mr. Wayne Porter Bedsaul, 95, of 36 Walker Drive, Lambsburg, VA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 7, 2010, at his home. Mr. Bedsaul was born October 17, 1914, in Carroll County, VA, son of the late Peter B. and Dora Hawks Bedsaul. Wayne served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked at Bedsaul Surveying Company for many years and was a member of Lambsburg Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Opal Percy Easter Bedsaul of the home; a sister, Mildred Walker of Lynchburg, VA; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bedsaul was preceded in death by two sisters, Fannie Fears and Marjorie Cooley; and two brothers, Chester Bedsaul and Woodrow Bedsaul. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Lambsburg Christian Church, with the Rev. Ron Schwarz officiating. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
