Wayne Patterson Dalton

Mr. Wayne Patterson Dalton, 59, of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Dalton was born September 21, 1948, in Surry County, to Bud Patterson and Dorothy Esther Gwyn Dalton. He was an avid fisherman and retired from the logging business. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Dalton and Lee Bowman of Dobson; a son, David Dalton of Winston-Salem; a lifelong friend, Betty Dalton Cheek; grandchildren, "papa and nanny's angels", Gabriel Patterson Dalton and Zandy Chandler Norman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynn and Rick Leonard and Deborah and Roy McKnight, all of King; a special niece, Nichole Leonard; a nephew, Christopher Brewer; and special friends, Gerald Moon and Judy Bacon. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday April 27, 2008, at Little Mountain Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Bill Watson and the Rev. Ray Hudson. Burial will follow in Flat Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home, and also at Little Mountain Baptist Church on Sunday from 1:00 until the hour of the service.
