Wayne Franklin Marsh

Mr. Wayne Franklin "Frank" Marsh, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his home. Mr. Marsh was born January 21, 1927, in Surry County, to the late William Brady and Tavia Viola Hodge Marsh. Mr. Marsh is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Jo Southern Marsh of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale Marsh and Carolyn of Lowgap; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanna Lynn Marsh Godfrey and Eric of Mount Airy; grandchildren and their spouses, Billy and Amber Marsh of Hays, Mike and Heather Marsh of White Plains, Jennifer Marsh Wills and David of Lowgap, Erika Godfrey Testerman and Chris of Mount Airy, and Joanna Godfrey of Mount Airy; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alma Marsh Venable of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Marsh was preceded in death by a brother, James Herman Marsh. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Billy Marsh and Chaplain Robbie Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
