Wayne Marcus Thomas

Mr. Wayne Marcus Thomas, age 91 of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Village Care in King.  Mr. Thomas was born on January 16, 1932, in Surry County to the late Alfred Samuel and Ruth Edwards Thomas.  Wayne proudly served his country and retired from the United States Army. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.  Wayne will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Surviving is his son, Larry Thomas; daughter and sons-in-law, Linda Thomas Hill and Barry, Donnie Huffman; two granddaughters and spouse, Katie Hill, Erin Huffman Stovall and Justin; six great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Darlene Thomas; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Thomas Huffman; sisters, Annie Ruth Thomas, Maxine Thomas Hazen; and five brothers, Ben Thomas, Burton Thomas, Melvin Thomas, Alvin Thomas, and James Thomas.  The family will receive friends on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy form 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.  The United States Army Honor Guard will perform a military service at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM..  Moody Funeral Services, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
