Wayne Thomas Williams

Mr. Wayne Thomas Williams, 75, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at his home.  He was born in Patrick County, VA on August 24, 1945 to the late John A. and Mattie Lee Carter Williams.  Mr. Williams was a retired self-employed rock layer.  He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John Wayne Williams and wife Lurrenda; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Johnny Williams; half-brother, Allen Williams; several aunts and uncles; many nieces and nephews; fiancé, Wanda Butcher; stepdaughter, Wannetta George; and a step-grandson, Zackary George.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Louise Edwards Williams; a grandson, Justin Lee Williams; a great-granddaughter, Addison Grace Belcher; and by an infant brother.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Butch Holder officiating with burial to follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy is serving the Williams family.
