Weldon George White

Mr. Weldon George White, 87, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Patrick County on May 22, 1926 to the late Cephus William and Maggie Rogers White. Mr. White worked at Bassett Furniture and was a retired farmer. He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Thompson and Wayne Sanderlin of Ararat, NC, Tammy and Chris Simmons of Mt. Airy, Annette and Carlton Boyce of Tyner, Sue and Cary Stokley of Virginia Beach, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Pansy White of Pilot Mountain; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a sister, Erma Booker of Germanton; two brothers and sister-in-law, Ronald and Dianna White of Pilot Mountain, Stuart White of Westfield; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. White was preceded in death by his wife, Theo Nunn White; a son, Jerry White; a sister, Iris Hayden; three brothers, Roger, Aldon, and Vernon White. A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Ricky Spencer officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to give a special thank you to Wayne Sanderlin for the love and care given to Weldon during his illness. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.
