Wenona Fern Westmoreland

Wenona Fern Westmoreland, 76, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on August 23, 2021 at Commonwealth Assisted Living in Richmond, Virginia.

Wenona was born in Mt. Airy, North Carolina on March 27, 1945 to Howard and Myrtle Watson. She grew up in Mt. Airy where she was active in her church and school before attending Gardner Webb College. She later married Jerry Westmoreland, also of Mt. Airy. She spent her career as a teacher and then later as a successful real estate agent in Chicago, Illinois, where she lived for many years.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Amy Westmoreland of Richmond, Virginia, and her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sarah Westmoreland, and grandsons Jacob, John, and Matthew of Richmond, Virginia. She is survived by her sisters Rita Johnson and Charlotte Cassell, her brothers Tommy and Wallace Watson plus dozens of cousins, nieces, and nephews from the Watson and Westmoreland families.
Visitation with family and friends will be 1pm on Saturday, August 28 in Little Mountain Baptist Church in Ararat, NC. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 2pm followed by a reception in the fellowship hall after.
