Junior was a faithful member of Piney Grove Baptist Church until his health declined. He was a member of the Brotherly Love and Senior Citizens committees and played an important role in the Brotherhood BBQ suppers. Junior was an avid gardener and will be remembered throughout the community for sharing his many homegrown fruits and vegetables with his family, friends, and neighbors. He is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Shirley and Larry Danley and Patricia and Craig Lawson, all of Mount Airy, Debbie and Tim Holmes of Yadkinville, and Cynthia Chattin of Pilot Mountain; six grandchildren and their spouses, Paul and DeAnne Danley and Lucas and Mandi Danley, all of Mount Airy, Audra and Tyler Chilton of King, Wesley Lawson and his special friend, Cathryn Lineberger, of Charlotte, and Jacob Chattin and Allison Chattin, both of Pilot Mountain; three great-grandchildren, Will Danley, Jaxson Danley, and Mae Danley, all of Mount Airy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jessie and Raybern Hiatt and Mary Ruth and Jobe Marion, all of Mount Airy; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Edythe Draughn, Eddie and Sandra Draughn, and Tommy and Sue Draughn, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Draughn was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Minnie Mae Hodges Draughn; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Lou and Rex Joel Marion, Sr.; and a brother, Ronnie Dale Draughn. A service to celebrate the life of Junior will be held Monday, November 16, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Mark A. Reece, Jr. and the Rev. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church, and other times at the home of Paul and DeAnne Danley, 1094 Smith Road, Mount Airy.
