Mr. Wilbur Thomas "Red" Collins, 77, of 1422 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007, at his home. Mr. Collins was born March 16, 1930, in Randolph County, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Lillie Mae Johnson Collins. He retired as the sanding department foreman from Mount Airy Furniture Company and was a member of Community Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bonnie Lee Hawks Collins of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Marvin Fulk of Mount Airy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis A. and Marie Collins of Pinnacle and Roy Dale Collins of Mount Airy; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pauline and Ralph Dollyhigh, Virginia and Minor Lowe, and Viola Newman, all of Mount Airy; and two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Harvey and Joyce Collins of Winchester, VA, and Joe Bill and Macy Collins and Treva Collins, all of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Hale and Hazel Newman; and a brother, Raymond Collins. The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 27, 2007, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Jessup, and burial will follow in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
