William Wright Brown

Mr. William Wright "Bill" Brown, 61, of 4430 Friends Mission Road, Ararat, VA, passed away Friday morning, March 5, 2010, at his home. Mr. Brown was born April 29, 1948, in McDowell County, WV, son of the late William Hubbard Brown, Jr. and Martha McMillian Brown. Bill owned and operated Brown Logging for many years. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mike Leech of Ararat, VA; three grandchildren, Nicole Leech and her fiance, Josh Wiles, Matthew Leech, and Megan Leech, all of Ararat, VA; a great-grandson, Jedrek Wiles of Ararat, VA; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Doug Slate of Pilot Mountain; and special friends, Claude Holt and Roy Epperson, both of Ararat, VA, and Ronald Jones of Cana, VA. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Kelly Giese officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
