William Gaston Carter, Sr

Mr. William Gaston Carter, Sr., 65, of 435 Pacific Circle, Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, April 22, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Carter was born December 21, 1947, in Surry County, the only child born to the late William Harry and Margaret Ann Southerland Carter. He retired from Jostens Inc. and was a member of the Christian faith. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandra Kay Cassell Carter of Mount Airy; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Dennis Angel of Mount Airy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Gaston "Bill" Carter, Jr. of Winston-Salem and Adam and Jennifer Carter of Pfafftown; and three grandchildren, Madeline Angel, Wyatt Angel, and Piper Angel, all of Mount Airy. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Woody Wood officiating. Inurnment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Airy Dialysis Center, General Patient Fund, 1280 Newsome Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Carter family.
