Mr. William Ray “Bill” Caudle, 88, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday evening, May 16, 2023, at his home.  Mr. Caudle was born October 15, 1934, in Surry County, to the late William Raynor and Lillian Beatrice Wagoner Caudle.  Bill served our country in the United States Air Force from 1954 until 1957, and he later worked as an engineer at CenturyLink, retiring after 30 years of service.  Bill was a longtime and faithful member of Grace Moravian Church.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Frances “Frankie” King Caudle; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Phillip Ray Caudle and Hugh Andrew and Lynn Caudle; six grandchildren, William Alexander Caudle and his wife, Olga, Amanda Marie Caudle, Lindsay Catherine Caudle, Megan Elizabeth Caudle, Abby Reed Caudle, and Adam Ray Caudle; a great-grandchild, Clancy James Caudle; two sisters and a brother-in-law, JoAnn Surratt and Glenda and Ralph Gough; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Caudle was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Lou Belton, Adele Myers, Evelyn Nowlin, and Eva Joy Tickle.  A service of worship and celebration of Bill’s life will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Grace Moravian Church, with the Rev. Bob Peterson and the Rev. Robert Wolfe officiating.  Inurnment will follow at God’s Acre.  No formal visitation will be held; however, the family will greet friends immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Moravian Church, 1401 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC  27030; or Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive, Suite 101, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
