William Ellis Hooker

Mr. William Ellis Hooker, age 96, of Claudville, Virginia passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy.  Mr. Hooker was born March 13, 1926, in Stokes County to the late William Elijah and Minerva Goins Hooker.  William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  Surviving is his sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Ellis Hooker and Wanda, James Alvis Hooker, Jackie O’Neal Hooker, William David Hooker; three grandchildren, Kathy Burt and Gene, Sandra Creasey and Brian, Connie Brown and Daryl Huntington; one sister, Rachel Hooker; and a brother, Dillard Hooker.  Mr. Hooker was preceded in death a by his wife, Lois Tex Willard Hooker; an infant son, Michael Wayne Hooker; two sisters, Mary Eliza Hooker Owens and Ethel Wilmoth; four brothers, James Frank Hooker, James Monroe Hooker, Meggs Rudolphus Hooker, and Howard Kelley Hooker.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Unity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Buford Jessup officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Unity Presbyterian Church on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
