William Kelley "Billy" Halfen, Jr.

          Mr. William Kelley “Billy” Halfen, Jr., age 68 of Ararat, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at his home.  He was born in Danville on February 17, 1953 to the late William K. Halfen, Sr. and Ruth R. Montgomery Halfen.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Halfen was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Marion V Haught Sachetti and father-in-law, James J. Sachetti.  He worked for 33 years as a traffic technician for the City of Worthington, Ohio and had worked as a railroad brakeman in Baltimore, Maryland.  Billy was unique and an individual who traveled his own path.  He enjoyed being outdoors, music, playing his guitar, movies, soccer and working on his own inventions.  He loved his family and will be missed.  We’ll carry on by remembering the happy times.

          Mr. Halfen is survived by his wife, Jimmie Jo Sachetti Halfen of the home; two daughters, Jessica Patton (Andrew) of Columbus, Ohio, Lauren Halfen Oertel of Mount Vernon, Ohio; a son, Sam Halfen of Ararat; a grandson, Vincent Oertel of Mount Vernon, Ohio; a sister, Jerri Hill of Durham, North Carolina; a brother, Ken Halfen (Kim) of Perry Hall, Maryland; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Sachetti of Fairmont, West Virginia, Brenda Spadafore (Jim) of Spadafore of Worthington, Ohio; and a brother-in-law, Matt Sachetti (Kathy) of Fairmont, West Virginia.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who all love and miss him.
