William Douglas Harris, Sr.

Mr. William Douglas Harris, Sr., age 67 of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, October 5, 2023, in Mount Airy.  Mr. Harris was born July 14, 1956, in Surry County to the late Archie Lee and Nancy Noonkester Harris.  William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  Surviving is his wife, Nancy Boyd Harris; three sons and daughters-in-law, William Douglas Harris, Jr. and Haley, Chad Eric Harris and Bridget, Dustin Travis Harris and Michelle; five grandchildren, Christian Lee Harris, Cheyenne Rose Harris, Joshlyn Shay Harris, Valerie Star Harris, Amber Rain Harris, Ryan Gage Harris; one great-granddaughter, Oakleigh Marie Violet King; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda Harris Wilson, Pam Inscore, Jo Harris McIntyre and Jack; and one brother and sister-in-law, Buck Harris and Cynthia.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by a sister, Dianne McBride; and two brothers-in-law, Darrell Inscore and Dean Wilson. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Don Whichard and wife Margaret officiating.  The family will receive friends on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is assisting the Harris Family.
