William Ray Hill

Mr. William Ray "Bill" Hill, 62, of Cana, VA, passed away Friday, December 26, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born March 15, 1946, in Randolph County, to the late John Byron and Clara Fields Hill. He was a grading and landscaping contractor. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Peters Hill of the home; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Tammy Reynolds of Franklin, Tracy Young of Lexington, Dawn and Eddie Loflin of Thomasville, Cindy and Anthony Stillwell of Lexington, and Kimberly Winfield of Erwin, TN; three sons and daughters-in-law, Timmy and Brenda Hill of Franklin, Hank and Billie Hill of Sophia, and Newly and Marcella Hill of Greensboro; his stepmother, Nancy Lackey Hill of Thomasville; twenty-one grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Darlene Spaugh, Mary Jackson, and Nellie and Bobby Auman, all of Archdale, Doris and Rodney Rogers of Indian River, MI, and Judy and Jim Peele of Trinity; a brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Sandra Hill of Archdale; and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hill was preceded in death by two brothers, Harrrison Hill and Junior Hill. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 29, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Albert Everidge and Pastors Syreda and Robert Bryant. Burial will follow in the Easy Acres Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the care and concern during Bill's illness.
