Mr. William Elmer "Bill" Inman, 85, of 121 Barrington Drive, Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, April 18, 2009, at his home. Mr. Inman was born February 13, 1924, in Surry County, to the late Harry and Ella Jane Shelton Inman. Bill retired from Quality Mills and was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Roxie Juanita Tharpe Inman of the home; a sister-in-law, Beulah Midkiff Inman of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews, Marsha and Ottis Lowe of Mount Airy, Fred and Beverly Cooke of Wilkesboro, and Martha and Don Austin of High Point; several great nieces and nephews; and many friends and special neighbors. In addition to his parents, Mr. Inman was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Inman Cooke; and a brother, Richard Jay Inman. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 20, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. Entombment will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
