William Gray Lundy, Sr.

Mr. Bill Lundy, 90, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at his home.  Mr. Lundy was born September 17, 1931, in Grayson County, Virginia, the son of the late Gwyn William and Etta York Lundy.  Bill proudly served our country in the Amphibious branch of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and the North Carolina Highway Patrol in Catawba and Guilford Counties.  He was a present member of the Round Peak AF & AM Masonic Lodge #616, a member of the DAV and Central United Methodist Church.  He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Georgia Johnson Lundy and a son, William Gray Lundy, Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jeff Foster; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Keith Suttles; five grandchildren, Jason Foster and wife Holly, Emily and husband Michael Harmon, Kory and Collin Suttles, Kate Lundy; two great-granddaughters, Addie and Lundy Harmon; a brother, Kyle Lundy; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Lundy was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Edward Lundy, and a sister, Betty Lundy Hodges.  A graveside service will be held, Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 3:00 pm at Blues Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev.
