Mr. William (Billy) Lloyd Mears age 87 of Wood Cove Drive, Mount Airy, husband of Irene Pruitt Mears, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Mears was born in Patrick County on May 26, 1919 to the late Samuel Mears and Jennie Pike Mears. He was a member of Family Fellowship Chapel and attended New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dobson and loved the Lord with all his heart and was a Christian example for his family. He was an original founding partner of Pike Electric, was self employed in automobile sales for over 35 years, an avid coin-knife collector and a veteran of the US Army. Surviving are his wife, Irene Pruitt Mears of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Jeannie (Kitty) Mears of Mount Airy, Richard Mears of Morgantown, WV and Alvin and Tammy Mears of Siloam and one grandchild, Camron Reid of Siloam. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM. The service will be conducted by Rev. Mike Shelton, Rev. Mitchell Pruitt, Brother Lee Freeman, Rev. Tommy Smith and Rev. Wayne Mears with burial to follow in Skyline Memory Gardens with Military rites conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mount Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Friday night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
