William Presley Mitchell

Mr. William Presley Mitchell, age 87, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born on July 5, 1937 in Patrick County to the late Charles Earl and Geneva Dollarhite Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell retired from Northern Regional Hospital after 50 years of service as a Nutritionist. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will surely by missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Mary Lou Nester Mitchell; children, Dwight Mitchell (Misshell), Gregory Mitchell (Brittney); grandchildren, Crystal Mitchell, Kiersten Kaye Pagdilao, Meredith Douglas, and Adalyn Mitchell. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Hawks and Mary Alice Hull; brother, Thomas Mitchell. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens with service conducted by Pastor Brandon Harrison. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 PM until the time to leave for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
