William "Billy" Puckett

Mr. William “Billy” Puckett, Jr. 79, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Surry Community Health and Rehabilitation in Mt. Airy.  He was born in Surry County on June 19, 1943, to the late Bill Puckett and Claudine Hawks Holder.  Mr. Puckett poured and finished concrete for many years.  Billy loved Carolina Tarheels and playing golf.  Billy never met a stranger.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Stacy Harrold Puckett; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Meadows (Don), Vickie Cassell (Craig), Billie Jo Lowe (Bradley); eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his brother, Willard Dale Puckett, and grandson, William Chad Meadows   .  A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Moody funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Watson and Elder V.J. Hawks officiating.  Burial will follow in Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Services in Mt.
