Mr. William Edward Reeves, 65, of 139 Apex Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, September 19, 2009, at Central Adult Care. Mr. Reeves was born January 16, 1944, in Pittsylvania County, VA, to the late William Otto and Thelma Marsh Reeves. Ed was a police officer for the town of Pilot Mountain in the early 1970s and was later the owner and operator of Reeves Gulf Station. He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Ricky Lambe of Lambsburg, VA, and Anita and David Payne of Dobson; a son, Ronnie Edward Reeves of Mount Airy; three grandchildren and their spouses, Chasity Amanda and D.J. Handy of Mount Airy, and Brandi Rene and Stephen Robertson and Dalton Schaeffer Payne, all of Dobson; a great-granddaughter, Bailey Melynn Robertson of Dobson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Ellen Gentry of Mount Airy and Glenda Faye and Larry Key of Tobaccoville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Thomas and Jenny Reeves of Mount Airy and Roger Lee and Nellie Reeves of Pilot Mountain; and many special friends at Central Adult Care. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 21, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Johnny Johnson and the Rev. Travis Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 20, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
