William Sechrist

Mr. William Wayne Sechrist, 89, of Dobson, passed away Sunday morning, April 25, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital.  He was born on December 24, 1931 in Carroll County to the late William Amos Sechrist and Lillie Beck Sechrist.  He faithfully attended Piney Grove Baptist Church and retired after many years of operating and repairing heavy equipment.  Wayne was a very outgoing person with a heart full of life and had a friend everywhere he went.  Left to cherish his memory are a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Tina Sechrist; four grandchildren, Kenny Sechrist and Jennifer, Justin Sechrist, Shane Wolfe, and Ashley Nester Collins and Randy; sixteen great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Wade and Mary Sechrist; nephew, Zane and Vickie Sechrist; special friends, Leon and Vicki Hundley; and by his loving church family.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Caudle officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Sechrist family.   To send flowers to William's family, please visit our floral store.
