William Riley Wood, Sr

Mr. William Riley Wood, Sr., 79, of Rockford Road, Dobson, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010. He was born June 9, 1930, in Surry County, to the late Sion Escar and Ethel Catherine Rumley Wood. He was a retired used car dealer and a member of Rockford United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Karen W. and Lewis Draughon of Dobson; a son and daughter-in-law, William Riley Wood, Jr. and Sandra B. Wood of Dobson; two grandchildren, Zachary Draughon and Courtney Wood, both of Dobson; and a sister, Betty Sue Whitaker of Dobson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Arnold "Bob" Wood. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 22, 2010, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Todd Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockford Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home.
