Willie Lee Snow Hawks

Mrs. Willie Lee Snow Hawks, 91, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Snow was born August 18, 1916, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Garfield Snow and Donna Pearl Ward Snow. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Carol Hawks of Mount Airy; a son-in-law, Ray Flippen of Mount Airy; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a brother and sister-in-law, Mack and Nellie Snow of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hawks was preceded in death by her husband, Swanson Coy Hawks; three daughters, Lucille Riggans, Nancy Flippen, and Shirley Tucker; two sons, James Hawks and Bobby Hawks; and a grandson, Jason Hawks. A graveside service will be held Friday, April 25, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Bill Spurlin. No formal visitation will be held at the funeral home.
