Mrs. Wilma Georgia Wilmoth Simpson, 88, of Elkin, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born August 5, 1922, in Surry County, to the late Tyson Basil and Lillian Dinkins Wilmoth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Alonzo Simpson; and a brother, Kelly Wilmoth. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and a retired seamstress. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Quincy McBride of Oklahoma City, OK; three sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Kaye Simpson of Winston-Salem, and Donald and Jean Simpson and James and Debbie Simpson, all of Elkin; nine grandchildren, Tonya Simpson, Matthew Simpson, Allison Simpson Allen, David Simpson, Amy McBride Windsor, John McBride, Jessica McBride Griffin, Drew Simpson, and Dara Simpson; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Juanita Davis of Garner; and a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Margaret Wilmoth of California. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Fairview Baptist Church, with Dr. Andy Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fairview Baptist Church on Saturday morning, September 11, 2010, from 10:00 until the time of the service. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Simpson family.


Service Information

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday September 11, 2010 at Fairview Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Dr. Andy Atkins will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Fairview Baptist Church on Saturday morning September 11, 2010 from 10:00 AM until the time of her service.
