Windell Wilkie White

Mr. Windell Wilkie White, age 82, of Elkin, North Carolina passed away on December 12, 2022, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  He was born in Surry County on October 14, 1940, to the late Drew (Belt) White and the late Corenia (Tad) Dodson White.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa White Reece; sister, Irene White Nance; brothers, Hubert White, Thurmond White.  He was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was the oldest member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church.  Surviving is his wife, Jo Ann Billings White; daughter and son-in-law, Retha White and Scottie Holbrook; son and daughter-in-law, Jessie and Nerissa White; son-in-law Jimmy Lindsey Reece; eight grandchildren, Alicia and Terry Cooper, Lindsey and Brian Harris, Heath and Morgan Reece, Scotty Harris, Landon and Hannah Holbrook, Kayla and Al Griffin, Kellen Prevette, Autumn and Wesley Cheek; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Drew and Susie White; special niece, Sonia White Joins; and several other nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M Thursday December 15, 2022. at Welcome Valley Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Heath Reece and Rev. Billy Jenkins will officiate the services.  The family will receive friends at Welcome Valley Baptist Church on Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Windell and his daughter, Theresa White Reece to Welcome Valley Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 115 Dodson Rd. Elkin, NC 28621, or to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.  Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the White family.
