Mrs. Yvonne Collins Marion, 71, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Wednesday night, February 14, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Marion was born February 28, 1952, in Surry County, the oldest of two children born to the late Hersey Walter and Rada Pearl East Collins. Yvonne retired from the Surry County Department of Social Services and was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church for 30 years. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ron Marion; two daughters and a son-in-law, Stephanie Yvette and Pastor Ken Tilley and Courtney Dawn Marion and her fiancé, Josh Collins; a son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Sharon Marion; and nine grandchildren, Madison Tilley, Karlie Marion and her fiancé, Cameron Taylor, Evan Marion, Laikyn Tilley, Alli Mabe, Emerson Tilley, Kendall Mabe, Bella Mabe, and Jayden Collins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marion was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Collins Greene. The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church, with Pastor Ken Tilley and the Rev. Jacob Flippen officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
