Zoy Israel Gammons

Mr. Zoy Israel Gammons, age 94, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018.  Mr. Gammons was born in Surry County on January 16, 1924, to Reid and Ada Reynolds Gammons.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather who will be dearly missed.  Surviving are his wife, Maxie Wall Gammons; a daughter, Tincy Parries; a son and two daughters-in-law, Charles and Melba Gammons, and Linda Gammons; step children, Ronnie and Tammy Norman, Kathy and Ronnie Sprinkle, Ronald and Gail Norman, Danny and Cindy Norman, and Janice and Ricky Ashburn; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, six step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren; sisters and a brother-in-law, Viola Hiatt, Iola Inman, Geraldine Vaughn and Carolyn and Clarence Campbell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde Gammons, Clinard and Virginia Gammons, Leonard and Laverne Gammons and Joanne Gammons; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents Mr. Gammons was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Gammons; a daughter, Allie Southern; and a son, Bobby Gammons.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 7, 2018, at Albion Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Stone and Bro. Ricky Sisk.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home.
